Corona virus on your doormat?

One question we receive often these days is ‘ how long can corona virus survive on doormats’. Although it’s not certain how long the virus that causes COVID-19 can remain active on surfaces, studies suggest that the coronavirus can survive on a surface for anywhere from 2 hours to a few days.
So the key here would be to make sure you clean and maintain your doormat enabling it to carry out its dirt trapping mechanism.

Disposable Gloves

Cleaning and maintaining your doormat is more important now than ever before. However, when doing so make sure you wear disposable gloves  to ensure you do not come in contact with any of the dirt that your doormat has trapped.

HEPA filter

Vacuuming is a great way to clean and maintain your door mats. However, while doing so, use a HEPA filter in your vacuum so that small particles are trapped inside instead of being recirculated. Let’s do our best to stay safe.

Disposable Gloves

Using a doormat definitely helps you keep your shoes clean. But we can’t stop there anymore. To make sure your house is clean and to prevent the virus from entering your home, leave your shoes by the door 🚪 and treat them with a good quality disinfectant.

Looks like these practices will have to be part of our new normal life again. After all, isn’t it better to be safe than sorry?
